The battery shall be marked with a code according to its specifications. This code can be Complicated and is defined based on different standards of coding.

DIN Number (German Industrial Standard):

1st digit = Battery Voltage

(1-2 = 6 Volt & 5-7 = 12 Volt)

2nd & 3rd digits = Nominal capacity

(e.g., 560 = 60Ah @ 20-hour rate / 660 = 160Ah @ 20-hour rate)

4th & 5th digits = unique code

(Referring to the specifications of battery such as terminals types, vibration and endurance level and …)

ETN Number (European Type Number):

1st digit = Battery Voltage

(1-2 = 6 Volt & 5-7 = 12 Volt)

2nd & 3rd digits = Nominal capacity

(e.g., 560 = 60Ah @ 20-hour rate / 660 = 160Ah @ 20-hour rate)

4th, 5th & 6th digits = unique code

(Referring to the specifications of battery such as terminals types, vibration and endurance level and …)

7th, 8th and 9th digits = Cold Cranking Performance

Cold Cranking Performance (Amps)
(Cold Cranking Performance (CCA) is the starting ability of the battery in specific conditions. It may introduce in accordance with different standards such as SAE, DIN or EN)
